Christmas is the perfect opportunity to spend quality time with family and friends over the festive period, and transforming your home into a winter wonderland often creates excitement for all of those visiting guests. At Millwood, we are great lovers of this time of year and are always keen to get involved in the celebrations.
Over the past few weeks, the fantastic team at Lumiere Events has been extremely busy decorating our show homes ready for Christmas. We feel it is important to help our customers look ahead and see what their future could look like in their brand new Millwood home at Christmas-time. Our show homes at Bakers Field in Cliffsend, Cherry Tree Lane in Ewhurst, Coppice End in Crowborough, Heatherlands in Heathfield and The Glebe in Storrington are now beautifully adorned with a warm and cosy festive feeling, helping to give our purchasers a hint of what it would be like to celebrate Christmas with their families in a Millwood home. Spreading the Christmas cheer even further, Lumiere Events has put together some top tips on how to impress guests with your home décor this year:
A Show-Stopping Christmas Tree: The first thing that catches your visitors’ eyes will always be the tree, and it is the centre of any home at Christmas. For the trees in Millwood’s show homes, we used a variety of different baubles, ribbons and bows to attract the attention of the guests visiting the developments over the Christmas period. To add a touch of style and glamour to the tree, you should have a particular colour scheme in mind for your tree and even better one that echoes the colours already present. At Bakers Field in Cliffsend, Kent, we chose a green, white and silver colour scheme, and decorated the tree with sparkly baubles, feathers and flowers to create a magical festive feel.
Gorgeous Staircase Garlands: These garlands make a real difference to the house at Christmas-time. By decorating different features within your home, it can make it just that bit different from your friends’ homes and really brightens up the staircase area, which is often the first place to greet any visiting guests. At Cherry Tree Lane in Ewhurst, Surrey, we used white, silver and blue decorations to a traditional garland to brighten up the hallway, and added pine cones to give the festive touch of bringing the outdoors in.
A Toasty Fireplace: There are many ways in which you can dress up your fireplace to get it ready for the festive season. Bring the outside in with a natural theme, placing pine cones, dried fruit and spices and scented candles on the mantelpiece to complete your Christmas living room theme. Homes with fireplaces always look beautiful during the festive season, and are the ideal place to get cosy, drink hot chocolate and enjoy one of the many festive films on the TV. So many of Millwood’s homes have beautiful fireplaces, including Coppice End and Heatherlands, a perfect feature to decorate for Christmas and create that cosy, seasonal feeling.
If you’re looking for a new home, why not pay a visit to our newly decorated show homes? Between Christmas and the New Year (27th – 30th December), Cherry Tree Lane, Bakers Field, Heatherlands Coppice End and The Glebe are all open daily between 10am-4pm.
