As Spring scatters sunshine across the country, it’s that time of year when gardens start to blossom, and green fingered enthusiasts spend their days pruning and preening their trees and borders. National Gardening Week offers the perfect opportunity for those wanting to make the most of their gardens, and Millwood Designer Homes’ Sales and Marketing Director Philip Brown, discusses the importance of incorporating well thought out gardens into its developments.
Hosted by the Royal Horticultural Society, National Gardening Week 2020 is being held between April 27th and May 3rd aiming to encourage more people to take part in the healthy outdoor activity of gardening, and inspiring ideas on how to get the most from their own gardens. With the UK currently under lockdown restrictions, gardens have become a cherished asset to homeowners, and as an award-winning house builder, Millwood understands the importance and value of having access to outdoor space and considerately designed gardens.
The average Brit will spend more than three years of their life in their gardens, so when it comes to buying a new home, it is without doubt that a garden is an important factor when it comes to choosing a new property. At Millwood we make it a priority to ensure our developments are not only sympathetic to the surrounding environment, but also incorporate open green space and gardens, for residents to enjoy all year round.
During this lockdown period, the importance of being able to get outdoors has become an essential part of our daily lives, especially for families with children who need space to burn off some energy and get some much-needed fresh air. Incorporating spacious gardens into our developments not only provides much needed green space, but offers a wealth of mental and physical health benefits helping to bring a sense of calm into our daily routines. Gardens are an extension of the home, a space for fun, socialising, relaxation, and even somewhere to grown your own fruit and vegetables too! National Gardening Week provides some fantastic suggestions and ideas, and tip and tricks that even the beginner gardener can get involved with.
At Millwood, we take pride in the fact that our developments offer residents beautiful homes coupled with quintessential village community living, along with the added safety and privacy of a garden. At our newly launched Kent developments Hawthornden in Yalding, and The Maltings in Biddenden, and particularly at our beautiful coastal development Bakers Field in Cliffsend near Margate comprise a selection of homes that feature excellent-sized gardens, perfect for everyone to enjoy. Our homes at Cherry Tree Lane in Ewhurst are also complemented by being located on the border of The Surrey Hills, an Area of Outstanding Beauty.
