Christmas is the perfect opportunity to spend quality time together over the festive period and transforming your home into a winter wonderland often creates excitement for all the family. Marcus Dunn of Lumiere Events, who has recently decorated the show homes at Windsor Meadow in Marden, Brambledown in Maidstone and Monks Meadow in Ardingly, provides some top tips on how to impress guests with your home décor:
Create an inviting entrance – Lit and decorated garland can be wrapped around the staircase for an inviting entrance and to welcome your seasonal visitors. Floral picks, cinnamon sticks, bows and ribbon add a touch of glamour and make a statement.
The statement living room – Customising your ornaments and decorations according to your interior colour scheme will transform your home. At the Windsor Meadow and Brambledown show homes, we used silver, white and blue baubles for a fresh and festive feel.
A striking tree – The centre of any home at Christmas is the tree. Using large baubles, ribbons and bows will catch the attention of guests, ditch the tinsel and make sure you have a colour scheme. At Monks Meadow, we created a vision of purple and gold colour, light and sparkle for a luxurious look.
A warm and cosy fireplace – There are many ways in which you can dress up your fireplace to get it ready for the festive season. Bring the outside in with a natural theme, placing pine cones, dried fruit and spices and scented candles on the mantelpiece to complete your Christmas living room.
Why not come and visit our newly decorated show homes? Monks Meadow is open daily between 11am-5pm, whilst Brambledown and Windsor Meadow are open daily between 10am-4pm. Between Christmas and the New Year (27th – 30th December), all three show homes are open 10am-4pm. We’re sure you’ll be impressed by everything you see in a Millwood home!
