Ryan Boxhall, 18, from Southborough, has been awarded the coveted Excellence in Senior Design prize by The Skinners’ School in Tunbridge Wells. The prize is sponsored by Tonbridge-based Millwood Designer Homes, as part of its prestigious annual Encouragement Pack initiative, which works with a number of schools across Kent and East Sussex.
Rob Sisley, Millwood’s Finance Director, met Ryan to present him with his prize of a trophy, along with a £50 cheque and £50 book token. Ryan has just started studying Mechanical Engineering at the University of Exeter, having completed A Levels at Skinners’ School in Design Technology, Maths and Physics.
Edward Wesson, Headmaster at Skinners’ comments: “Ryan is an outstanding young man and a real credit to the school. We are thrilled by his award of a Millwood Encouragement Pack and have no doubt that this will foster his continued interest within the field. We are very grateful to Millwood Designer Homes for their support of our Design department and the recognition of our young men.”
Ryan, winner of the Millwood Designer Homes Prize and Cup for Senior Design, comments: “I am grateful for receiving the award, presented at Prize Giving. It was great to receive the recognition after all the hard work over the last year and I intend to put this towards my studies whilst undertaking a Mechanical Engineering degree at the University of Exeter. Skinners’ has set me up very well for these next three years and without the help of the Design Technology department, allowing me to gain the knowledge and practical skills I need to study engineering, I would not be in the position I am. I owe a lot to the school for giving me the drive to achieve and allowing me to succeed to the best of my ability.”
Millwood currently has a range of individually designed homes available across Kent, Sussex and Surrey. In Sussex, new communities are coming to life at Lavender Fields in Isfield, Monks Meadow in Ardingly and Woodlands View in Hastings, providing a wide range of homes for a spectrum of buyers.
In Kent, Millwood has recently opened its doors to a beautiful show home at Brambledown in Maidstone and The Old Orchard in Sutton Valence. The new show home at Windsor Meadows in Marden will be unveiled and open to the public on the 28th and 29th October.
Having moved further into Surrey this year, Millwood has current sites, Little Logmore in the bustling town of Dorking and Hops End, in picturesque village of Puttenham.
