The great outdoors has never been more important to us, acting as the only constant past-time we have been able to enjoy in recent months. Families have flocked to their local parks to collectively enjoy time in the sun, relishing in picnics, bike rides and playing games together. This month, between the 12th and 21st of July, Love Parks Week is celebrating everything fabulous about our Great British parks, encouraging people to get out and about and embrace the fresh air and bursting nature that is on their doorstep.

At Millwood, we pride ourselves on building in locations that encourage a well-rounded lifestyle for our residents, and that includes ensuring there is a significant amount of countryside in and around each development, bringing a wealth of health and wellbeing benefits to residents.

Coppice End, Crowborough

Not only is our Crowborough development Coppice End just moments from the 2,000 hectare Ashdown Forest, it is also surrounded by a number of local parks for residents to use at their pleasure. Just a 12 minute walk away, Crowborough Country Park is a nature reserve that has access to beautiful woodland walks, winding streams, two ponds and specified picnic areas to enjoy al fresco dining in the midst of nature. A little further afield, Walshes Park is a new open access countryside area with all-weather paths, marshlands, raised boardwalks and an area to view the historic moated remains of the medieval Walsh Manor.

Pulborough Brook RSPB

The Glebe is set on the edge of the South Downs, surrounded by picturesque countryside and plenty of parks for locals to explore. With 30 acres of woodland, rare heathland areas, plenty of grassland and ponds, Sandgate Park is a fantastic place to discover the local wildlife and habitats and is just a four minute drive from homes at The Glebe. Alternatively, the RSPB Pulborough Brooks is a nature reserve just 2 miles away, where residents can hire binoculars and enjoy a stroll, either guided or by themselves, through the various nature trails available. When your legs are tired and needing a well-earned rest, a café and shop are also open for walkers to relax with a coffee and something freshly baked!
