  • According to a recent article in The Sunday Times, Reigate in Surrey is the 12th best place to live in Britain.

Their reason? It’s a much greener – and cheaper – alternative to Islington but still has the spirit of “North London”.

In Reigate you’ll find delis, dress shops and cafes – there’s even one that combines cycling with coffee. Maison du Vélo is a hub for cyclists to meet, talk bikes, refuel, or just chill and watch the cycling action on screen – whilst enjoying a cup of coffee of course!

Reigate is also well known for its dining scene, and you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to restaurants. The Dining Room is a chic, contemporary restaurant that demonstrates the chef’s classical background whilst also incorporating some international influences. Known from the BBC’s Ready Steady Cook, Tony Tobin joined as Head Chef in 1993, and has since established the restaurant as one of Surrey’s finest.

Of course, we mustn’t forget the great schools in the area, as well as the open spaces of Priory Park and the North Downs, making Reigate a great choice for families. Reigate Heath has a nine-hole golf course – described as “a little gem!” by TV commentator Peter Alliss, whilst commuters can be in London Bridge in 39 minutes and Gatwick in half that time.

All in all, it is easy to see why The Sunday Times rated Reigate so highly. So isn’t it time you joined them?

Where better than five-bed Chartfield House on the highly sought-after High Trees Road in Reigate, built by renowned housebuilder Millwood Designer Homes.

Chartfield House has it all. A lift to all floors just in case you don’t want to take the stairs. An elevated position allowing you to appreciate panoramic views of the Surrey countryside from the south-facing terrace. Wine cellar, library, media room… Chartfield House is the home that keeps on giving.

Incredibly spacious, with a split-level ground floor and two further floors, the home is flooded with light thanks to an abundance of bifolds, French doors and Juliet balconies, ensuring you can enjoy those views all year round.

    Says Sales Director Philip Brown:

“Chartfield House is a wonderful home, epitomising luxury and indulgence. All five bedrooms are en suite – the master bedroom even has its own dressing room – and there’s a butler’s pantry next to the media room.
When it comes to entertaining guests, you’re spoilt for choice. Drawing room, dining room, family room, all with bifolds to the garden. Then there’s the huge kitchen/breakfast which also has a separate cloakroom and utility with side access. Outside, you’ll find a triple garage and plenty of parking for when friends and family visit.

“Chartfield House is also just one minute’s walk from Redhill Common – perfect for strolling and dog walking. With spectacular views across the Weald to the South Downs, it’s a fantastic place to explore.

“The Sunday Times is certainly right about Reigate; it is undoubtedly a great place to live. If you haven’t considered living in Reigate then it’s time you did. And if you haven’t considered Chartfield House, then it is high time you did!”

Guide price: £2.65 million. The show home is open daily between 11am and 4:30pm Monday to Friday, and 11am to 5:30pm at weekends.
