As the interior styles and trend predictions start to emerge for this year, Millwood Designer Homes looks at how the interiors at the newly launched Cherry Tree Lane show-home are bang on trend.
The process of decorating, selecting furniture and personalising your home is an exciting process for any homeowner and there are many new styles, colours and trends already emerging in popularity this year.
The first trend that seems increasingly popular for the New Year, is the use of rich colours and statement pieces, which will play a large part in updating interior styles this year. Shades of grey have dominated interiors for last couple of years and whilst neutral backdrops will still remain a popular choice, hues of blue are being introduced more than ever. Tones include bright teal and midnight navy accents, which create eye-catching internal living spaces and create a contemporary twist, when combined with a pop of bold colour and luxurious textures.
In addition to statement colours, statement lights are returning to 2019. Delicate ceiling lights are able to generate as much attention as a large chandelier and both can give the WOW factor. Our homes are all designed to maximise natural light and space, through large windows and bi-fold doors, but creating bright spaces through use of lighting can add luxury and elegance to key reception rooms.
Elements of nature also appear imminent in this year’s design trends. This includes the desire to use recyclable and natural materials, as well as flowers and plants to add a feeling of freshness, replicating the growing trend for greenery. When designing developments, we incorporate green open spaces and landscaping to ensure homes evoke a sense of serenity.
Our new four-bedroom show-home at Cherry Tree Lane in Ewhurst, Surrey, showcases fantastic interior design and on trend features. Designed by Vogue Interiors, a palette of ivory and navy-blue generate a reoccurring theme throughout the home, creating a calming living space. Featuring a large statement Inglenook fireplace and French doors to the garden, the living room has accents of burnt orange, which is a popular tone this year, and draws attention to the focal areas, while large windows flood the room with natural light.
Showcasing the ivory and navy theme further, the luxurious master bedroom suite is elegant thanks to the beautiful King-size bed with a deep buttoned velvet headboard and crystal and glass ceiling light.
In reference to the development’s name, Cherry Tree Lane, the show home also features design elements from the recent Mary Poppins movie, including her infamous umbrella, hat and bag. Why not come and visit Cherry Tree Lane this weekend or one of our beautiful show homes in Canterbury and Marden, Kent – we’re sure you’ll love everything you see in a Millwood home.
