Taking its name from the pretty Maplehurst Woods which surrounds it, residents at Woodlands View can easily enjoy the wealth of nature trails and countryside from their own doorstep.

Steeped in the history of its famous maritime past, Hastings formed one of the five medieval Cinque Ports, in Kent and East Sussex, originally created for military and trade purposes. Although the original harbour was destroyed in the Great Storm of 1287, when the cliff and half of Hastings Castle fell into the sea, the town retained its thriving fishing industry and is today home to one of the largest beach-launched fishing fleets in Europe.

Built by William the Conqueror as a stronghold during the Battle of Hastings in 1066, Hastings Castle has more recently converted into a popular tourist attraction, allowing visitors to tour its battlements. The bustling seaside community of Hastings also boasts a charming Old Town area, where original architecture has been carefully preserved and is also home to a strong local arts community.
