    Buying a property off-plan is a common term associated with purchasing a new build property before build completion. This is becoming increasingly popular in our current market and can offer a variety of benefits. The buying process for a second-hand property and a new build home are undeniably different. There are many misconceptions about buying-off plan including the process appearing complicated and daunting, however it is definitely worth considering.

    Firstly, buying off-plan could be the ideal opportunity to get more for your money. If you purchase early, the value of your property could increase and be worth significantly more by the time you move in, providing a sound investment and profit for the future.

    Another big advantage to purchasing off-plan is the selection. This could allow you to secure one of the best plots on the development, perhaps with great views or a south-facing garden. In many cases at Millwood, we offer customers buying off-plan the chance to personalise their home, choosing fixtures, fittings, flooring and having a greater say in the overall specification. This is the perfect way to put your individual stamp on the home and an opportunity that usually only arises when buying off-plan.

    Unlike a pre-owned home, new builds come with a certain buying ‘experience’. Although when buying off-plan, you cannot view the finished product, show homes at developments are a crucial way for customers to understand exactly what fits their needs, as well as providing excellent inspiration.

    For those worried about not being able to see their own home, new builds are quality-guaranteed with a 10 Year warranty from the New House-Building Council (NHBC), or equivalent, and at Millwood, we have a dedicated Customer Aftercare Department, which provides peace of mind for two years following a purchase.
