2018 has been an extremely interesting year in many ways. For the UK property market, the struggle for first time buyers to get onto the property ladder has weighed heavy in the headlines, however, the dream of home ownership is still very much alive.

Most notably, in this year’s Autumn Budget, Chancellor Philip Hammond announced the excellent news that the Help to Buy scheme will be extended to 2023. Having already helped thousands onto the property ladder, I believe the popular scheme will continue to grow in demand and popularity amongst first time buyers. At Millwood, we are proud to support and offer Help to Buy at a selection of our developments across Kent, Sussex and Surrey. We have seen excellent uptake from customers including both first-time buyer and second steppers, using the governments scheme.

With the rising cost of living in London, more people are seeking a move to the Home Counties, for a quieter, relaxed lifestyle, with the bonus of a convenient commute. Buyers in general and downsizers in particular, are considering new build homes which offer low maintenance and a sense of security and warm community atmosphere, which new developments can certainly offer.

We are delighted this year, five of our popular schemes in Ardingly, Hastings, Dorking, Puttenham and Sutton Valence are now all fully reserved, sold and occupied. We have a selection of homes currently available in Isfield, Marden and Canterbury and look forward to a busy year ahead launching several new developments.
